In a significant outreach to the needy, more than 150 indigent residents of Barangay Suba were the grateful recipients of 5-kilo packs of ivory rice and an assortment of canned goods.
This charitable act was part of a larger event hosted by The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Philippines, under the guidance of Deputy District Grand Master Hudson Ong and the Brethren of Masonic District Region 7.
The charitable event, which aimed at providing relief to those in need within the community, was marked by the presence of Barangay Captain Jojo Sable and the soon-to-be Barangay Captain Jecmer Sable.
Captain-Elect Sable moved the gathering with an uplifting speech, commending the spirit of community and the importance of mutual support.
The joy was evident on the faces of the beneficiaries who were visibly elated to receive such generosity. The event was not just limited to the distribution of food staples; it also included a feeding program that catered to an additional 300 residents, demonstrating the extensive impact of the charity drive.
Councilor Rey Gealon’s office was instrumental in the facilitation of this event, showcasing the power of collaborative governance.
In a poignant address to the attendees, Councilor Gealon implored the beneficiaries to maintain resilience in the face of adversity, to work tirelessly for their loved ones, and to always keep faith in their prayers.
He also took this opportunity to appeal to altruistic individuals and businesses to come forward and contribute to the welfare of the community’s most vulnerable.
This event not only provided immediate assistance to those in need but also reinforced the communal bonds of Barangay Suba, emphasizing the fundamental values of compassion and solidarity in building a strong and supportive community.
