Philippine Airlines (PAL) has earned the prestigious title of the “Most On-Time Airline” in the Asia-Pacific region for January 2024, as reported by Cirium, a prominent London-based aviation analytics firm.
The airline achieved an impressive on-time performance (OTP) rate of 86.85% in the first month of the year, marking a significant improvement from its performance in December 2023, where it was ranked as the second most punctual airline in the region.
This achievement reflects a near four-point increase in PAL’s OTP compared to December, indicating a strong start to the year for the national carrier of the Philippines. The accolade is a testament to the airline’s commitment to operational excellence and punctuality, factors that are crucial for travelers.
PAL’s rise to the top of the rankings is attributed to the collective effort and dedication of the PAL Group team, as well as the support from government authorities for improvements in airport and airspace systems. These enhancements have played a critical role in enabling the airline to operate more efficiently.
Capt. Stanley K. Ng, President and Chief Operating Officer of PAL, expressed gratitude towards the PAL team for their dynamic efforts and to the government authorities for their support.
He emphasized the airline’s continued collaboration with government and industry partners to maintain and further enhance its on-time performance, highlighting the importance of such achievements for the benefit of the flying public and the broader travel and tourism industry.
The report by Cirium also noted that airlines from Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand secured the second to fifth positions, respectively, in the January rankings, with carriers from New Zealand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Japan completing the top ten list.
Philippine Airlines has consistently ranked among the top 10 most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific over the last five months of 2023, showcasing its reliability and efficiency in comparison to other airlines in Southeast Asia, China, and Australia.
In the latter part of 2023, PAL’s on-time arrival performance remained strong, with rankings of third in September and November and fourth in October, demonstrating the airline’s ongoing commitment to punctuality and service excellence. – CebuLifestyleChannel.ph
