A devastating fire in Sitio Sta. Lucia Potat, barangay Tinago, Cebu City claimed the lives of four family members and injured eight others early Tuesday morning, local officials reported.
The fire, which erupted at 1:46 a.m. on February 27, 2024, resulted in the death of Rosita Otadoy, 54; Parolito Otadoy, 60; and two children, Joseph, 14, and Jeffrey, 12, confirmed Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera in an interview with DYLA radio.
In addition to the tragic loss of life, the blaze ravaged the community, completely destroying 13 houses and partially damaging three others. Authorities have estimated the damage at approximately 7.05 million pesos.
The cause of the fire is under investigation as emergency services and local government units assess the impact and coordinate relief and support for the affected families. The community is in mourning as they come to terms with the loss and destruction caused by the fire. – CebuLifestyleChannel.ph
