In a remarkable display of athleticism and endurance, Fiscal Hazel Caraballe of Gealon Racing Team emerged victorious in the 35-45 year-old age category at the TWM triathlon event held Saturday, April 6.
Caraballe completed the challenging course, which included a 1.5 KM swim, a 40 KM bike ride, and a 10 KM run, in an impressive time of 3 hours and 7 minutes.
The event kicked off at dawn by the Esperanza Seawalk in San Francisco, Camotes.
Joining Caraballe on the podium were teammates Ronald Sarmago and Limito Caraballe, Jr., who also delivered strong performances, securing medal finishes among the 300 athletes competing in the race.
Another notable member of Gealon Racing Team, Fiscal Jill Ann Gealon, is slated to participate in the next race, adding to the anticipation for the team’s future endeavors.
Fiscal Hazel Caraballe and Jill Ann Gealon, apart from their triumphs in triathlon, serve as prosecutors for the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice, based at the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.
Their dual roles underscore a remarkable balance between professional commitments and athletic pursuits.
Team Manager Rey Gealon expressed his deep appreciation for the team’s performance, attributing their success to divine protection and the hard work of each member.
“We are all praises, especially to God for keeping them away from harm or injury and coming out with the category championship in our maiden race,” he said.
The team also extended its gratitude to its sponsors, which include XFM Cebu and Y101 under the Y2H Broadcasting Network led by Dr. Remelito and Mdm. Olivine Uy, METRO Gaisano, and CCLEX, for their invaluable support.
The backing of these sponsors has been pivotal in the team’s preparation and success at the TWM triathlon, marking a promising start for Gealon Racing Team in the competitive sports arena.
