For years, high school science teacher Rubilyn Delumbar’s weekly routine was daunting and exhaustive. Almost every week, she had to juggle a heavy projector, an old laptop, and a stack of cables as she prepared for her classroom visual presentation.
As a science teacher, she made it a routine to make visual presentations in the classroom as part of her science lessons to visualize the week’s topics, giving her students the best learning experience possible.
While these presentations often received enthusiasm and interest from her students, teacher Rubilyn said carrying and setting up the equipment for the presentation has become a routine challenge, a tedious task that often ate into valuable teaching time and one that had taken a toll on her health, physically.
“It was a tiring task since I had to move the projector myself from the stockroom to my classroom. Setting up a lot of cables and wires was also a challenge for me but I had to do all of these to make sure that my students understood the lessons of the week,” Delumbar said.

Setting up the projector inside the classroom would often take 15 minutes of the class’s 45-minute allocation. While Delumbar wanted to show more visuals to her students, she always ran out of time.
There was also the anxiety: Would the equipment work today? What if something goes wrong? What if the cables won’t work? she recalled.
“I wished there was an easier way to do it. One that would be reliable, easy to dispatch, and doesn’t need a lot of manual labor,” she stressed.

Delumbar’s classroom has a Smart TV, donated by the homeroom Parents Teachers Association (PTA) officers. The TV, however, was used mainly to play videos and watch movies downloaded on USB sticks.
Until recently, when Delumbar found out about the technology that would allow her to stream presentations on Smart TV – Prezenter. No need for projectors, no need for laptops. No need to untangle a maze of cables.
Prezenter is a smart presentation app created by a Cebu-based startup founded by Kennette Canales, a former college professor who himself experienced the daunting task involved in doing presentations.
The app was created with the educators in mind, Canales said during its launch in Cebu City recently. He said he drew inspiration from his own frustrations with outdated presentation setups in the classroom.
“We were in the advanced stages of technology and yet there I was struggling to make the projector work, untangling cables, looking stressed infront of the class almost all of the time,” Canales said.
With Prezenter, teachers can cast their lessons seamlessly, making technology an invisible yet powerful ally in their teaching.
The app supports various formats, including Google Slides, PowerPoint, PDFs, images, and videos, making it versatile for different presentation needs.
Recently, Prezenter went up to the mountains of Cebu City to help equip the teachers of Sibugay Integrated School with its Smart TV Application. The activity was in collaboration with Seed4com, which has enabled the school through WeConnect, a program that provides Starlink satellites to far-flung communities.
“Teachers are now more equipped and ready to tackle their daily tasks. They will be able to focus more on their students’ wellbeing because they don’t have to worry about the inconvenience caused by bringing projectors and laptops every time they make presentations,” according to Prezenter.

For the hundreds of teachers who have benefitted from the technology offered by Prezenter, making presentations through Smart TV has brought a breath of fresh air into classrooms, like Miss Delumbar’s.
“I used to feel like I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders every day,” Delumbar recalled. “But now, it’s like that weight has been lifted. I walk into my classroom with nothing but my smartphone, and I’m ready to teach.”

She said her students can even access the presentations at home if they want to review them or make clarifications, as long as they have Smart TVs.
“The presentations are clear and the colors are vivid since these are streamed on Smart TV. I find it more interesting and more educational. And it is as if I’m just watching a movie on Netflix,” said RogeneKyle Catubig, one of Delumbar’s students.
Canales, the Prezenter founder, dreams of bringing the technology to every school in the country and the app to the global audience. He said Prezenter can be used not only in schools but also in companies, hotels, and other institutions that require presentations.
“When we started Prezenter, we wanted to make presentations easier, but we never imagined how much it would mean to the teachers. Their stories of relief and joy—it’s why we do what we do,” Canales said.
