BDO Foundation, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have officially launched free, online financial education (fin ed) modules aimed at strengthening the financial literacy of millions of technical-vocational learners across the country.
Co-developed by BDO Foundation and the BSP, the first three of nine planned modules are now accessible to the public through the TESDA Online Program at e-tesda.gov.ph.
These initial modules focus on the fundamentals of personal finance, including financial planning, budgeting and saving, and debt management—key skills that aspiring professionals will need to secure their financial well-being.
TESDA Director General Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez highlighted the initiative’s significance during the recent celebration of Financial Literacy Week.
He emphasized that the launch is only the beginning, noting that more modules are in the pipeline.
“I hope our collaboration will not end with the three fin-ed modules that have been developed so far. Nagsisimula pa lang tayo [at] marami pa tayong gagawing online courses,” Secretary Benitez said.
The next set of modules, currently under development by BSP and BDO Foundation, will delve into investing, fraud and scam prevention, financial consumer protection, digital financial literacy, Personal Equity and Retirement Account (PERA), and key economic indicators—all designed to equip Filipino learners with a more comprehensive understanding of personal finance.
“By fostering financial responsibility among Filipinos, we can take a step forward to our bigger goals as one nation,” shared Atty. Charina De Vera-Yap, managing director of BSP’s Financial Inclusion and Consumer Empowerment Sub-Sector.
She added that the program helps ensure the future workforce will be capable not only in their chosen careers but also in making responsible financial decisions.
The nine financial education modules—originally launched through the BSP E-Learning Academy (BELA)—represent the expanding reach and impact of the BSP-BDO Foundation partnership.
With TESDA now hosting the modules on its platform, financial literacy training is more accessible than ever, marking a critical milestone in building a financially empowered Filipino workforce.
