With Filipino consumers increasingly seeking sustainable transportation options, global automotive brands Omoda and Jaecoo have launched their first dealership in the Philippines, banking on the country’s growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles.
Eres Automotive Inc., the local distributor, opened the dealership on December 18 at Gaisano Mall in Cebu’s North Reclamation Area. This marks the debut of Omoda and Jaecoo, two vehicle brands from China’s Chery, in the Philippine market.
“With a rising demand for electric and hybrid vehicles, we see great potential in Cebu and the broader Philippine market,” said Carlo Joseph Japson, CEO of Eres Automotive Inc. “Our partnership with Omoda and Jaecoo allows us to introduce innovative, eco-friendly vehicles to Filipino drivers ready to embrace a cleaner, more sustainable way of driving.”
The brands’ lineup includes electric and hybrid vehicles designed for performance, fuel efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
The Omoda C5, built on the “Cross F Futur” design philosophy, features advanced technologies such as a Smart Key with Remote Engine Start and Voice Control Command System. Available in three variants, it is priced under PHP 1.3 million.
Omoda’s first fully electric vehicle, the E5, offers a range of 430 kilometers under WLTP standards and fast-charging capabilities, recharging from 30% to 80% in just 28 minutes.
The Comfort variant includes a complimentary 7kW wall charger, with both variants priced under PHP 1.7 million.
Meanwhile, the Jaecoo EJ6, a versatile electric SUV, boasts options for rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, a range of up to 421 kilometers, and advanced features such as adaptive cruise control and wireless smartphone integration.
Safety elements include multiple airbags, ABS, and blind-spot monitoring, catering to consumers seeking a blend of style, safety, and functionality.
The Cebu dealership launch signals the start of Omoda and Jaecoo’s expansion plans in the Philippines. The brands aim to establish more dealerships in key locations nationwide, bringing sustainable and technologically advanced vehicles closer to Filipino consumers.
