This collaboration was formalized in a ceremony where Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama signed a memorandum of agreement at the Cebu City Hall Executive Building.

Cebu City’s history with the Palarong Pambansa dates back to its first hosting in 1954, followed by another round in 1994, demonstrating its long-standing commitment to fostering national sportsmanship and talent development.
