The much-awaited “Suroy-Suroy Sugbo Enchanting Camotes” event, a highlight in Cebu’s tourism calendar, has been scheduled for May 11 to 12, as announced by the Provincial Government of Cebu.
This immersive tour aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and breathtaking beauty of the Camotes Islands, offering participants a unique exploration of one of Cebu’s prime tourism gems.
The event will kick off in the island town of Pilar, setting the stage for a memorable journey through the Camotes group of islands. Participants will then proceed to the town of San Francisco, where they will spend the night, allowing them to experience the local hospitality and serene environment up close.
The exploration continues on the second day with a visit to Tudela, before concluding in the town of Poro. This carefully crafted itinerary promises a comprehensive experience of the islands’ diverse offerings, from stunning landscapes and seascapes to rich island cuisine and vibrant cultural performances prepared by the local government units.
Governor Gwen Garcia, during a coordination meeting with tourism stakeholders, emphasized the importance of maintaining the high standards set by previous Suroy-Suroy events, particularly noting the absence of complaints from last year’s participants. With an expected turnout of around 700 guests, the event’s organizers are committed to providing an exceptional experience that highlights the unique character and hospitality of the Camotes Islands.
The Provincial Government’s investment of P600,000 in each of the four LGUs of Camotes Islands—Pilar, Poro, San Francisco, and Tudela—underscores the commitment to not only promoting tourism but also to enhancing the economic and cultural vitality of the region.
As preparations for the “Suroy-Suroy Sugbo Enchanting Camotes” are underway, potential participants and interested parties are encouraged to make their bookings and inquiries through the Cebu Provincial Tourism Office.
This event not only promises an unforgettable journey through the enchanting landscapes of the Camotes Islands but also a celebration of the rich cultural heritage that defines this beautiful region of Cebu. – CebuLifestyleChannel.ph
