Taxpayers seeking services from the Office of the City Assessors (OCCA) now have the convenience of accessing these services through the palm of their hand, thanks to the city’s new online portal.
Nelyn P. Sanrojo, head of the OCCA Computer Division, announced during a teleradyo program on Sugboanon Channel that the full implementation of online submissions for transactions began on February 1, 2024.
Through the city’s online portal, www.rpts.cebucity.gov.ph, clients can now request services such as the issuance of certified true copies (CTC) of property tax declarations and assessments without the need to visit the office in person.
Sanrojo highlighted that with the launch of this online service, OCCA no longer accepts walk-in clients, streamlining the process and making it more convenient for taxpayers.
To access the services, clients must first register on the portal by providing their email address and phone number. After registration, they will receive an activation code via email or text to finalize their online profile.
For those needing to secure a CTC of tax declaration online, the process involves clicking the “Online Transactions” button, entering the necessary details such as name, tax declaration number, and the purpose of the request, along with submitting a soft copy of a letter request and a valid ID for property owners.
Sanrojo assured clients that they would be notified through email or text message once their request is received and again when it is approved or if additional information is needed.
She also reminded clients that a visit to City Hall is only necessary when they receive confirmation that their CTC is ready for release and advised bringing a hard copy of the submitted documents. The cost for securing a CTC is set at P40.00 per page.
This digital shift aims to enhance the efficiency of transactions with OCCA, reflecting the city’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve public services and make them more accessible to its citizens. – CebuLifestyleChannel.ph
