Cebu Pacific emerged victorious in the Airline category at the prestigious Routes Asia 2024 Awards, held in Langkawi, Malaysia.
The award ceremony, celebrating excellence in airport and destination marketing, recognized the Philippine low-cost carrier for its innovative strategies and collaborative efforts in expanding its network and services.
The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) was named the Overall Winner and also triumphed in the Destination category, highlighting its strategic codeshare flights, inventive incentives, and collaborative campaigns that have led to a significant increase in reservations and passenger recovery.
JNTO Director Akira Watabe emphasized the organization’s role in shaping a resilient future for Japan’s aviation success.
Other winners included Clark International Airport in the Philippines, which took home the award in the Under 5 Million Passengers category, Perth Airport in Australia for the 5-20 Million Passengers category, and Melbourne Airport, also in Australia, for the Over 20 Million Passengers category.
Cebu Pacific’s recognition comes as the airline continues to focus on recovery and expansion following the pandemic’s impact. The carrier has been proactive in re-establishing its Clark hub, which resumed in April 2023.
This move enabled the airline to launch and resume services to 15 domestic and international destinations, demonstrating Cebu Pacific’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and supporting the tourism and aviation industries in the Philippines and beyond.
The airline, which plans to double its fleet by 2035, has been successful in implementing new services through continuous engagement with airports and stakeholders, underscoring the importance of collaboration in the industry’s recovery efforts.
Finalists for the awards were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including airline representatives for the Airport and Destination categories, and a panel of editorial judges for the Airline category, ensuring a comprehensive and fair assessment of all nominees. – CebuLifestyleChannel.ph
