The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Central Visayas proudly announced the relaunch of its Cebu Hub on March 16, at the American Corner, USC Main Campus.
The event, which ran from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, marks a significant step towards rekindling the spirit of leadership and collaboration among young leaders in Cebu and the broader Philippine community.
YSEALI, an initiative by the U.S. government, is dedicated to enhancing leadership skills and networking among the youth in Southeast Asia.
It offers various programs that aim to empower and connect young leaders, encouraging them to collaborate on critical regional issues.
The revitalization of the YSEALI Cebu Hub is designed to offer young leaders in Cebu opportunities for growth and to make impactful contributions to their communities.
Led by a group of dynamic young leaders who have benefited from YSEALI’s grants, workshops, and fellowships, including educational and professional experiences in the United States, the hub aims to inspire more Cebuano leaders to engage and expand their influence.
The hub’s objectives include mobilizing leaders for significant projects, recruiting volunteers as YSEALI Cebu Advocates (Cebu Sugbo-cates), and providing mentorship and support to the youth.
The relaunch event featured discussions, networking sessions, and insights into YSEALI’s initiatives and opportunities for young leaders in Cebu, aiming to foster a community of collaboration and growth.
Angelica Añabeza, YSEALI Cebu Hub Co-Lead, emphasized the exceptional leadership skills of YSEALI alumni and the continuous support from the US Embassy in the Philippines and YSEALI Philippines.
The hub’s mission is to enhance its impact across Central Visayas and maintain a strong network of Cebu Advocates. This initiative highlights the commitment to transformative leadership and international collaboration.
