SM Supermalls in Cebu and the University of Cebu have reaffirmed their commitment to fostering community development through the renewal of their academic partnership on Monday, August 19.
This collaboration focuses on supporting students with internship programs, future job placements, and opportunities for mutual enrichment and learning.
The partnership, underscored by a ceremonial signing of the memorandum of agreement at SM City Cebu, aims to enhance the local community by creating strong academic linkages.
Present at the event were UC’s Executive Vice Chancellor Atty. Jack Sarausad, Linkages and Marketing Coordinator Mr. Nino Ardiza, and campus representatives, alongside key HR managers from SM City Cebu, SM Seaside City Cebu, and SM City Consolacion.
Also in attendance were Marissa Fernan, Vice President of SM Prime Holdings, Inc., and Marilou Kiunisala, Assistant Mall Manager of SM City Cebu.
The collaboration is designed to not only provide practical experiences to students but also to ensure that local talent is recognized and nurtured to contribute effectively to the region’s growth.
This initiative reflects a broader trend where private sector entities are increasingly engaging with educational institutions to bolster local development and career readiness among students.
